Stainless Steel Ferritics
Ferritic Stainless Steels are steels where Cr is still the main alloying element and can reach high values. In the application of these steels, relatively low impact strength and welding problems should be considered.
AISI 430 – Has great resistance to nitric acid, organic acids and sea water action. When cooled rapidly it may undergo slight hardening. Used in the automobile industry, appliances appliance industry, chemical, furnace parts, restaurant and kitchen parts, etc..
AISI 430 F – Easy machinability are used in the manufacture of bolts, nuts, fittings, machine parts, etc..
AISI 446 – With the highest Cr content, it has excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures and therefore it is used in the furnaces, burners and muffles. However, its mechanical resistance is low at elevated temperatures.
